Become an associate producer or even executive producer on the terrifying collaboration between Paul Spurrier and S.P. Somtow!

A FILM BY PAUL SPURRIER

Two well-known luminaries from the world of horror have teamed up to produce a loving tribute to  the gloriously over-the-top cult movies of the past.

Paul Spurrier, a former child star who has directed award winning movies Pi and The Forest (which may be seen on Netflix) and most recently the thriller Eullenia (now available on Amazon Prime) is also a music lover and in the middle of creating a musical, Chasing a Dream.

S.P. Somtow is the literary pseudonym of World Fantasy Award winner Somtow Sucharitkul, the first Asian to receive the European Cultural Achievement Award.  He is the author of Vampire Junction, voted one of the world’s top forty horror novels by the Horror Writers Association.

The film will be shot over a very short period, utilizing resources, personnel and equipment that are already to hand.  The Siam Sinfonietta will provided a full-scale symphonic soundtrack composed by Somtow, and Paul will bring a high-level cinematographic sensibility to the look and feel of the film.

The production is planning to raise 1.5 million baht (approximately $50,000) in the form of private investors.  Since every film directed by Paul Spurrier has been internationally distributed, and since S.P. Somtow’s writing and music are internationally known, it is expected that the investment can bring a reasonable return though such a venture can never be guaranteed.  The film is expected to make the international festival circuit as well as the usual platforms for this type of film.

The low cost of the production is possible because Paul Spurrier is taking on the duties of director, cinematographer, and editor, while S.P. Somtow will be the producer, writer, and composer.
